Local meal-week 6

I’m pretty darn late this week, in fact past the cut off, so if I don’t make it this week I understand. But here’s our meal. And yes, the camera date is correct. It took me this long to get it on the computer.  The worst thing is that just about every meal would qualify so I have to do is take a picture.

8-5-07-001.jpg We had fried corn with red onions, a green bean/squash/tomato saute thing I made up (not very good), more blue potatoes baked like chips, a slice of watermelon and some homemade bread.

Non local ingredients were salt and pepper everywhere, flour and yeast in the bread and the olive oil and ketchup on the potatoes.

  1. Local food is good. We’ve been hitting the Great Basin Community Food Co-op. Had Smith ranch beef, tomatos, Lattin farms dressing (only the name comes from NV) and truckee river bread last Friday.
